Situated in the heart of Canton, Cardiff, St Aubin Romilly Road provides a warm and welcoming environment for children from around two years old until they begin school.
Dedicated toddler, nursery and pre-school areas allow children to learn, play and grow alongside others at a similar stage of development.
The nursery follows a child-led approach, offering a varied programme of creative activities, cooking, educational visits and age-appropriate learning experiences. Children can also enjoy the enclosed garden and outdoor classroom, giving them plenty of opportunities to explore and play outside throughout the year.
The nursery at Romilly Rd is an English medium nursery that welcomes children from approximately two years old until they go to school. Home for up to 45 children, the staff work hard to ensure that they enjoy educational based activities around
a variety of themes.
Here a range of experiences are given to the children to explore and develop their own skills in a stimulating and age appropriate environment.
Romilly Rd enjoy a planned timetable of educational visits to help the children gain further insight into the topic that they are exploring. The children also take advantage of a range of multicultural days that take into account a range of foods, costumes and traditions which help them to appreciate a way of life other than their own.
At this age some of the children will journey on through the process of toilet training and with the toilets built at their level we can assist them along this process.
Meal times in Romilly Rd are a very important and busy time of the day. The children dine in groups with a member of staff so that they may get the close attention that they need at this young age.
Behind the nursery is the enclosed garden space where the children can release some of their energy using the range of toys and equipment available to them.
Naturally as their day is packed full with exciting things the children become tired and do still appreciate time to rest during the day. With this in mind a rest room is set up for them to revive themselves so that they are ready for their next exciting adventure.
The younger children enjoy their own space on the first floor of the building in the Romilly Rd nursery, and much like the activities that their friends downstairs enjoy, the younger toddlers’ benefits from being a self- contained unit that surrounds the children with age appropriate tasks and learning opportunities.
The outdoor space available at Romilly Rd, is designed to house a range of bikes and equipment to allow the children to make the most of the outdoors. Chalking, painting, water and sand play can also be seen to happen outside of the internal walls.
We use IPAD’s to track the children’s development throughout the nurseries, using the foundation phase framework to help guide us. The assessment documents are printed and presented to you at parents evening during June / July each year.
The nurseries use an app named family to provide an interactive feedback system to parents throughout the day. The app allows you to know how your child is, receive photographs and updates on nappies, toileting etc as the day goes along instead of waiting until the end of the day when you collect them.

Siblings of two or more children will receive a 10% discount for the older child whilst both children attend St. Aubin. This discount also applies to our out of school club facilities.
Your sessions will be charged on a set monthly fee and a financial year breakdown will be provided to you in advance
Upon registration we require a non-refundable Registration Fee of £75.00.
A deposit of £40 per day will be payable to secure the nursery place. This deposit is deducted from your final bill providing the required notice period is given.
Fees are due to be paid on either the 1st day of every month. Payment can be made via DD, government gateway or Nursery Vouchers. St. Aubin does not accept cheques.

Discounts
A 10% discount is offered to one child when two or more siblings attend the nursery on a part time basis. The 10% discount is taken from the fees of the oldest child.
A 15% discount is offered to one child when two or more siblings attend the nursery on a FULL TIME basis.

All fees will be calculated according to the sessions you have booked your child in for. All fees will be paid at a set fee every month. I.e. the number of sessions per week x 52 weeks divided by 12 – The bank holidays and the week we close at Christmas are then taken off your bill according to the days your child does.
