Discover why families trust St Aubin Nurseries for high-quality childcare in a safe, caring and nurturing environment.

Olwyn

We’ve had our daughter in St Aubins in Penarth since she was 9 months old. Despite an extensive search through all Penarth nurseries, it was much like shopping for a new dress…we came straight back to the first one we saw. It just stood out from the rest for the family feel, the lovely staff and the wildly smiley children.

From the first day dropping her off, to today as a headstrong 2.5 year old, we’ve been nothing short of overwhelmed with how good it’s been. The staff in the baby unit created a real bond with her as well as putting a pair of skittish, overly-worried first time parents at ease. It is testament to the team there that when she came “downstairs” to the toddlers at 2 years old, she found it difficult leaving her friends, but the ladies supported, coaxed, and warmly transitioned her with the rest of the todds. There’s no denying that our angel loves to cry the house down when we drop her off, but there has never been a day when we haven’t had to drag her out of an evening at pick up. Her smile tells us that she loves every minute in there.

Alongside the magnificent staff, she has also been able to make so many friends. In fact it’s a delight to walk through Penarth and see her spot one of her “nursery friends” and shout their name. The nursery staff can take the credit, or the blame, for establishing a community of under 3’s that natter with one another in coffee shops and supermarkets.

St Aubin’s gets a 10/10 from us as parents, and 11/10 from Olwyn.

My granddaughter loves attending this nursery, she is always engaged and interactive in all the experiences that the nursery offer, from painting to role playing to ‘break the rules’ day!

She loves the staff and always comes home happy and has lots to tell about her day at this nursery.

Thank you

Rebecca (Robyn’s nana)

We cannot recommend St Aubins Penarth highly enough. Both of our children, Ivy (4) and Sonny (2), attend, and the care they receive is exceptional.

When Ivy first started, she was incredibly nervous and struggled with the transition. However, the staff were so wonderfully caring and nurturing during those early days. They went out of their way to reassure us, keeping us constantly updated on her progress, which gave us immense peace of mind. It didn’t take long to see just how deeply the staff had bonded with her. Today, Ivy absolutely loves going to nursery and has so much fun. It is incredibly clear how close the staff are with all the children and how much genuine joy they get out of their jobs.

Because of our fantastic experience with Ivy, sending our son Sonny there was an easy choice. He has had a similarly wonderful experience; he absolutely loves it and constantly talks about the staff when he’s at home.

The team at St Aubins truly go above and beyond to ensure the kids have a brilliant time, and their genuine care for the children shines through in everything they do. Thank you for taking such amazing care of our little ones!

St Aubin’s is so woven into the community that you don’t fully appreciate it until you’re part of it. After 30+ years it makes sense — you know the schools, the area and the teachers.

Your relationship with Evenlode’s teachers is fantastic. It feels like you’re one team. The wrap‑around care is safe, consistent and reassuring. Our son has been so lucky to be dropped off and picked up every day by people who are always on time, always calm, always smiling, and who walk the children safely to and from the bus.

He’s made brilliant friendships — not just within the St Aubins/Evenlode gang, but with children from Victoria and Pen y Garth too. He loves the bus journeys, collecting his friends along the way, and that whole to‑and‑from‑school routine has become a real highlight for him. He even directed me to St Joe’s the other day to show me where he picks up his friend.

The teachers are brilliant — fun, caring and full of energy. There’s a reason you’ve been so successful for so long. We’re so pleased we chose you for our son and can’t wait for our daughter to experience your wrap around too.

My little one, Stevie, started at St. Aubins when he was just 16 months old at the baby setting. He’s now nearly 4 and attends the older Welsh setting on Cowbridge Road. He absolutely loves it there—if he could, he’d happily go at the weekends! He talks about the girls at home all the time, which says everything about how much he adores them.

His Welsh has come on so much since attending St. Aubins, and his social skills have grown tremendously too. It’s been amazing to see how much his confidence has developed.

The staff are absolutely fantastic. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they always go above and beyond. I have complete peace of mind knowing Stevie is in such caring and capable hands every time I drop him off.

Thank you to everyone at St. Aubins Cowbridge Road for everything you do. We’re so grateful for the care, and support you’ve shown Stevie over the years.

Vickie (Stevie’s mum)

I have a 2 and a 5 year old, both of whom attended St Aubin nurseries. My son went to Victoria Park and then onto Romilly Road when he was 2. Both settings are great – the staff at the baby nursery were so kind and reassuring when we felt anxious leaving him as first time parents. He developed really lovely relationships with the staff members who clearly care for and about the children they look after. He was sad to leave them when he started at school!

My daughter started at baby nursery but then went to the Welsh language nursery on Cowbridge Road as we’ve decided to go down the Welsh medium route. We felt sad that she wouldn’t get to know the Romilly Road staff but as it turns out everyone is just as lovely and kind in the Cowbridge Road nursery! She loves going and often talks about the staff, as well as the other children, when she’s home.

As parents we’re happy with the communication with staff who keep us updated on the app and who really seem to know our children. The activities they organise at the nurseries also look good with lots engaging and imaginative play. My children have enjoyed creative sensory tuff trays, baking bread, water play, singing and trips to the park in the summer. And finally the food they serve is healthy, interesting and varied – even my extremely fussy daughter seems to enjoy it!

I hope this is the type of thing you’re after – let me know if you want/need any more detail!

Kind regards,

Sophie

“After looking at a couple of other nurseries in the area, me and my husband knew that St Aubin Romilly was the one for us. I was so apprehensive at leaving my child (as all parents are) with others but we know that Arwen’s progress is only as good as it is due to the love and care and experience of the staff who work there.

Practicality wise, It fits perfectly with our schedules as we both start work early and finish late. Security is really good and such a lot relief compared to some bad experiences seen on show arounds elsewhere. Arwen barely looks back when she arrives in the morning as she is just so excited for all the activities she can take part in with her friends. Not to mention the gorgeous Knap and Romilly park on their doorstep for trips to visit the duckies!

The staff are fabulous and nothing is too much trouble. They make you feel so welcome and not like you’re clamouring through parenting in survival mode! Thank you everyone!”

We love St Aubins nursery! My third child has just started now at Romilly Park nursery and I couldn’t feel more relaxed and happy about it. After having both of my older girls move through the nursery, I know he will be cared for and supported brilliantly by all the staff at the nursery. The baby rooms and staff are lovely! There’s a warm and comforting feel as soon as you walk in, and I know he will be happy and looked after by everyone there.

The staff are brilliant and genuinely care for your children. They learn their likes, dislikes and personality, and this shines through in the way they care for the children. Their days are jam packed with fun activities, plenty of craft and educational play. Both my girls have learnt so much from their time at the nursery. Having their friends, and different staff around them has opened up their opportunity to experience and learn things they simply wouldn’t have had access to had they remained home with me. Every time I pick them up, they are so happy and I can see they’ve had the best time!

The lodge has been absolutely fantastic! My daughter has loved going and the wrap around care they provided was so important for her as she went through her year at state nursery, and now into reception. She’s formed close relationships with staff. This was so important for her, and me, knowing they would be greeting her at the end of her busy mornings at school. Once at the lodge they get to take part in loads of fun and educational activities and play. They also do lots of cooking activities giving the children a chance to try new things.

I was anxious putting my children into nursery. However, I can look back now and know that St Aubins has been, and still is great for them! They have grown and learnt so much, and have had the best time doing it!

I am writing to share our comments for the new website. Our names are Cassey and Mathew, our children are Sabrina (5) and Jackson  (1). They attend St Aubins Roath.

“We enrolled Sabrina at St Aubin when she was just 10 months old, and honestly, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Handing your baby over to people you don’t know is incredibly daunting. What I could never have imagined at the time was that those “strangers” would become such an important part of our family’s life.

From the very beginning, Sabrina was loved, nurtured, and cared for in ways that exceeded every expectation we had. She flourished during her time at St Aubin, growing in confidence, independence, and curiosity. She enjoyed so many wonderful experiences that simply wouldn’t have been possible at home—from messy crafts and outdoor learning to trips within the local community, trying new and exciting foods, and building friendships with other children.

The team supported not only Sabrina but us as parents too. They guided us through milestones such as potty training and helped prepare her for the transition to school with such care and encouragement. Her years at St Aubin were filled with happiness, learning, and laughter.

In fact, choosing a nursery for our son Jackson wasn’t a decision we had to think twice about. We knew exactly where we wanted him to be. Jackson is now having the time of his life at St Aubin, and it’s so lovely that Sabrina still gets to see some of her favourite staff members when we drop him off each day.

We are incredibly grateful for the love, dedication, and support the entire Roath team has shown our family over the past five years. They have played such a meaningful role in our children’s early years, and we feel so lucky that both Sabrina and Jackson have been cared for by such wonderful, kind, and passionate people. St Aubin will always hold a special place in our hearts.”

“Our daughter has been at St Aubin for three years and she’s really loved her time there. The staff have been brilliant and they really care for the children – they are attentive, thoughtful and playful. Our daughter is excited to go to nursery every day. The nursery are really good at communication with parents and carers. The facilities are great – lots of toys and activities plus a wonderful garden. We love that they are outdoors all year round playing. We highly recommend St Aubin.”

Choosing a nursery is such a big decision as a parent, but from the moment our daughter started here at one year old, we’ve always felt she was in the best hands. She is now two and a half, and seeing how happy she is every day tells us we’ve made the right choice.

The nursery has such a lovely family feel, and the staff are genuinely caring, patient, and nurturing. They have built such special relationships with our daughter, and she absolutely adores them.

It’s been amazing to watch how much she has grown in confidence and how much she’s learned since starting. Her speech, independence, and social skills have all flourished. I noticed her counting to 10 in Welsh earlier and we haven’t taught her that ourselves.

We love how much time the children spend outside in the garden, and the trips out of the nursery to the park or even a trip to Cardiff Museum. She eats well at nursery too with a healthy varied menu, which is another huge reassurance for us.

We would highly recommend the nursery to any family looking for a caring place where their child can thrive.

Thanks,

Katherine Prosser

Louis has done 2 full days a week at nursery since he was 9months old. He had loved his time there and the staff have been wonderful at knowing him so well and encouraging him in everything he does. He is now nearly 4 and transitioning into school, which has been so much smoother given his confidence that he has built at nursery.

As parents we are always reassured when he goes to nursery as we know how wonderful and caring the staff are there. Although Louis is finishing his nursery journey our twins are now starting in the baby room and we know they will receive the same care and compassion as Louis has the last 4 years. We are so grateful for the dedication of the staff at St Aubins to help give our children the best start!

Best wishes

Alice, Louis mum

Finlay

Finlay started in St Aubin Cowbridge 7 months ago and has settled in so well. The staff are lovely and they do lots of activities ranging from outdoor time, arts and crafts, singing and reading.

There is a varied menu which changes regularly with plenty of fruit and veg. Finlay is always happy to go in the morning which is a great sign he is very happy in their care. I can’t recommend highly enough.

Kind regards

Rachel (Finlay’s mum)

My daughter Seren first joined St. Aubin in 2017 and we’re still here with our son Harri in 2026!

We have been with the Cowbridge nursery for almost 10 years and I would never look anywhere else. The workers here are AMAZING, with my son even calling one mum for a good 6 months (Kira, you’re blessed) we’ve had nothing but amazing care for our children and the girls bend over backwards for them.

Seren and Harri bloomed after starting St. Aubins and all the encouragement and care the nursery provides. Seren and Harri are well looked after and challenged physically and mentally to help development.

They are always taking them outdoors, to the park, the town centre, the gardens and the equipment the nursery have for outdoor play is amazing too. Even when the world went into lockdown, these ladies were on the front lines, looking after the children in a safe environment without sacrificing fun, learning and play. Thank you St. Aubins from the bottom of our hearts, we could not have done this without you, you have helped shape our littles into the children they are today and we will be forever grateful!

Our 2 sons have had at St Aubins.

Charlie  (previously attended) and Daniel (older babies)

St Aubins has given both our sons the best possible start. The caring, nurturing, stimulating environment has given them the security to develop confidence and independence. The staff are kind, compassionate and always have the child’s best interests at heart. We cannot recommend St Aubins highly enough.

I started looking for a nursery early on into my maternity as I was determined to find a place at the very best. I visited many nurseries within a 20mile radius searching for the right one. I can honestly say I definitely made the right decision in choosing St. Aubins in Cowbridge for my little boy. I was always very nervous about putting him into childcare but was made to feel at ease right from the start. The staff are welcoming and friendly and I genuinely feel they look after my little boy like he is their own. Working in education myself, I have loved seeing the dedication staff put into planning high quality learning experiences and being able to see the observations made via the app. Their attention to detail is clear and shows just how well they know my child. The environment is beautiful, clean and inviting, with lots of lovely resources to play with. My little boy walks into nursery every day happy and with ease. As a parent, your priority is ensuring your child is happy and well cared for, and I can certainly say this is the case at St. Aubins Cowbridge.

Thank you!

Victoria Park and then Romilly Road

This nursery has been a home away from home. The lovely people that work there are so kind, caring and loving to both my girls which is exactly the environment I wanted for them when I decided to go to work.

My girls are genuinely excited to see their favourite “teachers” (feel free to use whatever term you use!) and love playing with all their friends.

I love getting picture updates on the app as well as naps and what they have eaten that day.

Truly loved having my girls at St Aubins because they are such a lovely organisation.

Kind regards

Archies parents for Romilly Road.

We honestly couldn’t be happier with Romilly Road. Choosing a nursery is such a big decision, but from the start we’ve felt AC is exactly where he should be.

The staff are so kind, caring, attentive and genuinely loving. They really get to know your child, and it feels like they care about AC as if he were one of their own. He loves going in every day, and it’s been amazing to watch his confidence and development grow through all the fun and varied activities they do.

The food is brilliant too. It’s healthy, varied and has encouraged AC to try so many different foods – he definitely eats a bigger variety there than he ever does at home!

We also love the children’s evenings held each year. They’re such a lovely chance to see what the children have been up to, celebrate all their hard work and spend time getting to know the staff.

For us, Romilly Road feels like an extension of our family rather than just a nursery. We always know AC is happy, safe and well looked after, and we really couldn’t recommend them highly enough. I hope the staff know how valued they are.

Kind regards

“When we were choosing nurseries for our daughter, E, she was not yet one year old and we had never spent a day apart. I worried about how we would both cope with leaving her in the care of people we didn’t know. I needn’t have worried. The staff at St Aubin’s quickly stopped feeling like strangers—they’ve become such an integral part of our lives that it feels like having a team of co‑parents.

E attended baby nursery until she was two, and then Romilly Road nursery until now. Throughout her time at St Aubin the staff have always been gentle, kind, and deeply knowledgeable about child development. They take the time to truly understand each child. When E first started and still needed daytime naps, the staff would sit quietly with her, stroking her tummy to help her settle. She talks about them constantly and tells me how much she loves them. She even role‑plays “nursery” with her toys, reminding them to share, encouraging kindness, and celebrating their achievements—behaviours she has clearly absorbed from her time at St Aubin’s.

At bedtime, E often tells me about small moments from her day—when she’s bumped her knee or fallen out with another child—and how the staff comforted her or helped her navigate the situation. Her stories fill me with warmth and reassurance that she is surrounded by people who genuinely care.

The staff have supported me, too, through challenging parenting moments and personal situations. Their collective experience, both professional and as parents themselves, has been invaluable.

I regularly recommend St Aubin Nurseries to anyone who will listen, without a single reservation! – MT”

Leni goes to Older Baby St Aubin in Victoria Park.

We can’t recommend St Aubin enough and all the staff. They welcomed us with open arms the minute we came for our first look around. It was our second attempt at nursery for Leni and the difference is night and day.

It’s a place exactly how you would picture nursery to be, fun and colourful with lots of babbling happy kids around who clearly love the team that work there.

Thank you so much for making dropping her every week one less thing to worry about

We’ve had a wonderful experience sending our two children to St Aubins over the last three years. The baby nursery at Victoria park is a great calm environment for small babies, and they have both thrived there. The garden is lovely and as it’s close to Victoria park, they get a lot of outside time which is fab. Dewi and Eluned have both enjoyed the food and learnt to eat more independently at nursery. Due to the room set ups, they can also accommodate babies who still need more than one nap a day really well.

Dewi moved on to Cowbridge Road nursery nearly two years ago and has loved it there. His social skills and his Welsh have improved due to being at nursery. They offer wrap around with two local Welsh language primary schools too, and this has been invaluable to us. Cowbridge Road staff were fab with potty training too. The garden there is great, with a forest area and some bikes for them to play with, and they go on occasional outings to the park.

St Aubins truly feels like an extension of family and we’re all really happy there.

“Our daughter attends Baby St Aubins and she loves going to nursery. The staff are all really friendly and have a great relationship with her. It puts us at ease to know that she’s with a group of people who care about her. We get regular updates through the app, so we can see what’s she’s eaten, when she’s slept and for how long, and staff send us photos too. She’s often doing arts and crafts, playing in the garden, or taking part in different sensory activities. It’s brilliant knowing that she’s having a good time, learning through play,  and being well cared for.”

When I went back to work full time, my daughter, who was 18 months at the time hadn’t ever been looked after by anyone but family before, so we were all very nervous- but St Aubins Victoria park, the babies nursery were amazing- from her very first visit when we had our tour, she was comfortable and during the settling in sessions the staff were so great with her she was excited to go back.

She only contact slept until then, but napping hasn’t been an issue and she’s been nurtured and cared for so well she’s blossomed into a confident toddler – and gets to do so much she can’t do at our house, like sensory and messy play, new meals and snacks and all of her new friends.

I’d really recommend the nursery, we get regular updates and messages about her and her days there and I feel so relieved to be able to go back to work and not worry or feel guilty about leaving her behind!

I really could go on and on, the staff are amazing!
